“Goodwill alone cannot create peace.” “We need to think about how to build the path to peace into global social systems.” Through shared concerns like these, we were invited to Accenture Japan Ltd’s lunchtime in-house lecture series, where our President, TODA Takao, gave a talk on the theme “Putting Peace into Practice in Society.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the day, 86 people joined online, along with others in the room. After the talk we received many questions and much feedback. Many participants shared the same concern: “I want to do something for peace, but I don’t know where to start.” It became a lively exchange of views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the talk, Toda proposed that alongside “For All” (leaving no one behind), the spirit of the SDGs, we also need the perspective of “By All”: everyone taking part in shaping the future with their own experience and strengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also raised the point that, for efforts toward peace to work as a sustainable social system, we need to think about fundamental human motivations and how they relate to the individualism of a new era. Participants and Toda exchanged views on the possibilities for dialogue and co-creation with businesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Forum2050 has been working with the business sector, and we hope this new connection will lead to fresh collaboration with a wide range of companies and experts to put peace into practice in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
