Forum2050 at the Yokohama Peace Circle: Youth Voices to Be Reflected in a UN Secretary-General’s Report

横浜市が主催 「国連ピース・サークル」

On March 8, Forum2050 supported the “UN Peace Circle” hosted by the City of Yokohama. In what marked the first initiative of its kind by a Japanese municipality, the “Yokohama Peace Circle” brought together young people for group discussions on the theme of “Achieving a Sustainable Green Society and Peace.” Powerful messages emerged from the dialogue, including “Let’s build systems that make taking action fun.”

The outcomes of the day’s discussions are expected to be reflected in the UN Secretary-General’s Report on Youth Contributions to Peace.

From our organization, young members Ryusei Nozaki, Maaya Fujimoto, and Akari Itaya participated, while Representative Toda served as the overall facilitator.

Going forward, Yokohama City will continue to promote the message of peace × green in the lead-up to GREEN×EXPO 2027, scheduled for 2027, and Forum2050 will walk alongside them every step of the way.
